About me
Welcome! I’m Jessie. I am so glad you are here.
I am a lawyer by education, a preacher by calling and a peacemaker by purpose. I create spaces for authentic conversations about faith, justice, advocacy and empathy. I believe that together we can learn, change and grow to lean into God’s call for us as individuals and the church to sacrificially love each other.
There is an unsettling right now. There is movement and change happening. Do you feel it? I feel it. I feel it in my interactions with others. I feel it in our conversations. I feel it in my heart. There is a stirring. There is a growing uneasiness with what is and what is not yet. I believe this stirring is God calling us to wake from our slumber to listen to His vision for us as individuals and as the church.
I am on a journey to listen to God’s voice – to move me out of my comfortable spaces and theology to love more fully and more sacrificially. God has called me into spaces of growth and lament. He has called me into spaces of advocacy and humility. As I travel on this journey, I find that I am not alone. There are many of us waking up to find that we can no longer pretend that it is others’ work to speak out for self-sacrificing love and empathy. We can no longer bury our heads thinking that we do not need to “do the work” and love those marginalized or silenced. God has stirred in our hearts to raise our heads and activate our hands towards the work of radical love. But now, we ask the question – What does this look like? How do we move towards practicing self-sacrificing love?
Let’s uncover these answers together. I am excited to be on this journey with you to uncover God’s call for us – to move beyond the walls of the church to love others through advocacy and empathy. I am so glad you are here. Now, let’s get to work!
